  India Republic Day 2010

The motivation to start this build was wanting to complete the various Indian Air Force Migs in 72nd scale. The IAF had only two squadrons that fielded the Mig 23 MF ( No. 223 and No. 224 ) and were predominantly used in the western sector. The model I chose to represent is A/c SK 427 from No.224 Sqn. "The Warlords".

The build was very easy and the fit-up was excellent, though the cockpit lacked details. This was improved by adding an aftermarket resin ejection seat and substituting the plastic pitot tube with a needle cut to size.

The two tone camo went on easy and so did the decals, which were an assortment of self made roundels, sqn. markings and fin flash. The model was finally sealed with dull coat.

I dedicate this model to the fine air-men of IAF. Happy Republic Day. Jai Hind.
