Hello All,
My first submission to ARC was two years ago in July 2008, and this one is my second submission here.  However, since then (July 08), I've built more than 30 model kits ranging from aircraft, autos, to armor.  For various reasons I paused a while contributing articles to ARC, but now I've determined that I want to come back and to "rejoin" again, and to demonstrate the skills I have learned by talking to so many of YOU out there.  So, let me start with this most recent finish of 1/72 Trumpeter kit.

This is the first time that I literally used only silver color (I mainly use Model Master/Testors enamels) all over the aircraft's body and acquired the effects I wanted.  Never built a cold-war era jet so I wanted to give a try.  This is one of Trumpeter's earlier kits so the fit is not the greatest.  I did do quite a bit of sanding and seams filling (I use a Tamiya basic type putty, nothing fancy).  For wash I used my own pre-mixed water-based paint colors of black + burnt amber, and after that, I further emphasized the weathering effects by brushing pastels in various spots.  This is a Chinese H-5 (Chinese version of IL-28, "H" stands for "Hong" which is "bomb" in Chinese.  They still fly these nowadays!) and I really have no idea on how heavy the weathering should be; well, I think for modeling, there's never a wrong answer for that, only how creative you get.  So I may have over done it a little, but I really like the end result.  I built all the bombs and painted them with Testors olive drab.  I also quick-built Trumpeter's 1/72 fuel tanker truck, and made a good company with this beautiful jet.  I took various pictures ( I use a Canon 7D) and specially liked the one with all the bombs; I think it really gives a good "show of force" even though it is an old old old jet bomber.

Hope you like my build, and I'll definitely come back more often with my previously finished models!
Cheers to ALL! and Go ARC!
