Hi all,

This is my Hobbyboss MiG 17F.  I built it out of the box.  It is painted mainly with Tamiya Enamels.  I used XF-57 Buff, XF-22 RLM Grey and XF-27 Black Green for the nile valley Egyptian camouflage pattern.  The underside is light blue.  The kit is weathered with Promodellers black wash.  There is also a coat of Vallejo Matt varnish.  The gun soot is done with a weathering stick from Tamiya.

I choose Egyptian decals from my spare box. They are a little bit to small. The kit decals are North Vietnamese or roundels of the German Democratic Republic. Those last are very bad, they don't depict the real logo correctly.  The provided bombs and fuel tanks aren't very good and don't fit nice under the wings.  I left them in the box.

The real MiG 17 in Egypt saw a lot of action in the wars with Israel. First as a fighter later as a fighter bomber.
