I have been planning the build of a 433TFS F-4D carrying a Pave Knife pod for many years. For some reason I always ended up building something else. My goal was to build a diorama which was not overcrowded with vehicles, personnel and what not. The kit is a standard Hasegawa F-4D (KA05), released many years ago but still one of (if not) the best available in this scale. Weapons were easy to get, they all come from the various well known Hasegawa weapon boxes.

To add detail I used the old Verlinden PE set which looks very nice in general, but becomes very frustrating once you try to fit parts in to place. So, I had to add Eduard PE (ladder, speed brakes, etc) to get to the result I wanted. Other bits used are True Details wheels and Aires nozzles, the revetment is also from Verlinden and just as old as the PE set. A tip I got on the ARC forums was to add some silver to grey paint to get the galvanized look on the revetment.

Since I could not find any decals for this jet, I had to dig deep in my leftover stash and combine from various sheets. For weathering I used a mix of dirt and brown tints.
