Egg Aardvark

This is the Hasegawa Egg F-4E that I converted to the F-4J.  I added decals from Afterburners Yankee Station Mig Killers sold at the last IPMS Nationals.  I chose VF-114 because a mentor of mine flew three tours with the Aardvarks in Vietnam.  The patch I added is a genuine VF-114 chest patch.  I added some sprayed cotton for smokey engines as the Phantom had very smokey engines back then.

The base is a simple wood plaque that I masked off and painted to match the Aardvark paint scheme.  I used wire to hold the egg plane up and give it the look of flight.  This was an easy and quick build for me to do to get me back in the swing of finishing kits.  I recommend knocking one of these fine little models out to get you refocused on your builds.  Enjoy the pics, and Happy Modeling!
