Monogram Cessna 180 to a 185

My previously submitted Cessna 185 finally gets a home to sit in with a pilot and passengers. I used a frame from a cheap picture and frame set (Michaels) I added a chunk of scrap .080" Evergreen sheet for the pier and decorative sand (also Michaels) is standing in for water and allows me to remove the model for...whatever reason.

The pilot figure is a retired 1/35 scale Tamiya German tank officer...he's much happier doing this...the ladies are from a 1/35 scale figure set (I don't recall the manufacturer it contained 2 American officers and these 2 female figures) I redressed the ladies with more current skirting made of lead foil mixed and matched their arms and painted the figures with oils.  The German tank officer had new arms installed to resemble a guy wrestling with a 2000 lb airplane in front of a couple of cuties...I'm not sure how he's going to get into the drivers seat once the women are in the plane...but I wish I had his problems.

I bought a pile of these Monogram Cessna kits when they were re-issued a few years ago. I had planned on building them as relaxing projects (which this was) on rainy/ snowy days (well this took about 4 years...it doesn't rain or snow here that much) I did however make some silicon copies of my improvements to this kit so, hopefully the next 5 I make won't take me to my golden years to finish.
