1/72 Italeri MiG-29 9-12

This is my latest model kit.  It took me 2 weeks to build it.  A resin cockpit and resin nose ware added to improve the detail level and accuracy of the kit itself.  The Italeri kit is really bad and the main problems are the fit of the vertical stabilizers and fuselage and the fit of the intakes with the rest of the fuselage.  The exhausts need to be shortened for a couple of MM because the kit parts are too long and can ruin the overall looks of the aircraft.  I added some scratchbuilt pitots and IFF antennas out of hypodermic needles and guitar strings.

The Lift Here decals that were used had yellowed decal film, so I had to put those in my window for couple of weeks just to lose the yellow tint of the decal film.  Other than that they performed great.  The aircraft depicted is one used by the Yugoslav Air Force during the 19 99 NATO operations in Yugoslavia and was destroyed on the ground.  I painted the model kit with MM light ghost grey and MM Fulcrum grey green with couple of drops of flat black and Revell 68 dark green.

I hope you like my model.
