Time for a break. After building around 60 Sea Kings, I needed a distraction. Well, into the pile I dug til I found it- a 1/72 B-1 that would never get done due to sooo many parts missing. Perfect! Or at least good enough, for a 5 buck kit...
Step 1, plan it out- I love the C-17 on the Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. Too bad my Revell C-17 kit is earmarked for life as a Canadian Forces example. Imagination kicks in, to envision a high-speed transport that might have risen from the ashes of the B-1A program in the 70's...

To sufficiently alter the basic airframe, I added a few windows, replaced the exhausts with 1/48 F-18 parts, and went to work on the tail. F-15 stabs and a fairing built up with a Matchbox Lancaster bomb-bay door pair and Miliput worked well enough.
I played around with making crests on the computer and printed on decal paper. Paint colors were a mix I tried out from all my half-jars of various greys and blues, after a failed attempt at a camo job.
Agent Coulson would have loved it...
