Tamiya F-15E's, Tigermeet Of America 2005

A few months back my brother Dave brought me a box. In it were two Tamiya F-15E’s in parts. He had painted the Tigermeet portions of the Aircraft and wanted me to assemble and finish the job. So, for the first time in 5 years I slowly started assembling the kits. It took a couple of months but the pictures show the results. My brother had purchased all the kits and aftermarket decals that have the decal scheme for the plane and compared them to the pictures of the actual plane. None were close. So, he took the long (HARD) road and painted it himself. .

When I first saw the things I was amazed. Personally, I think he did a great job and got much closer than any decal sheet. My part was easy, just mask of the tiger meet paint scheme and assemble the kit.

While assembling the kit I kept referring to some pictures of the actual plane my brother had given me and I kept looking at the seats and FOD covers. I really wanted to add the Headrest covers to the seats and somehow make the FOD covers but I wasn’t really sure how to go about it. I finally decided to make the seat covers using lead foil and molding the entire seats. While I was pouring the mold for the seats it hit me to mold the inside of the intakes and engine cans and make a plug that could be cut down and flattened for the FOD covers.
