Silly Week 2015

Set in an alternate future, where Cadbury reigns as the major sponsor for racing events after passing Red Bull in the late 21st century, this space racer is an entry for the Reno Space Race.

For better visibility, the engines and control surfaces are mounted on the starboard side of the ship with a large cooling intake on the port for planet use.  Mounted behind the cockpit is a deflector shield from the engine exhaust.

Sensors and avionics are mounted in the nose, with radar on the underside.

The main kit used was a 1/72 Do-217 Night Fighter turned upside down and backwards. Cockpit and canopy (turned backwards) came from 1/48 P-80; and the port side cooling intake came from 1/48 U-2. Greeblies came from the spares as did the decals.
