Monogram "box scale" Cessna 185

This model was built with much help and input from Tim Parker of Patbayair.

I wanted as accurate a model as I could get so asked for and received help from the actual operator (try that with an air force).

As with my other models of this type airplane, I modified the shape of the cabin, the roof top, added windows, fin fillet, wing tips, with STOL style droop tips. The top of the fin shape was changed, beacon added, nav lights to the wing tips, the shape of the cowl was changed. Then to make dual display options I made the cowling/engine section removable to be replaced with a detailed, (as detailed as I could get) engine assembly, both being able to attach/ detach by pinning to the firewall. The interior was fully fitted out...never to be seen again. The float struts were included in the kit, the floats are resin home made copies, all painting (except floats) being Tamiya acrylics with the Patbayair logo and fin reg. printed on Testors decal film.

This model was built using similar methods to my previously submitted (Harbour Air) Cessna 185 float plane without adding the lower stabilizer strake.

Hope you like it.
