I walked into my hobby store recently to be met with a older gentlemen and his daughter. They had asked the owner if he knew anyone who could fix his broken 30 year old models. Lance said, "There he is!!" as I walked in. Turns out he is the high hour pilot on the old
CF-100 Chinook. Even having delivered the last flying example to the museum in Ottawa.

His ground crew built the model it even has the ID plate fixed to the base which looks really nice. All I did was put all the tiny bits back on and re-attached the model to the base. He even supplied two un-built kits to use as a parts source. Well it turns out the repair was easy and I did not need the parts kits. So I built them in colours of planes I guessed he flew back in the day. A hand painted 416 MkV and a MKIV in the training (3OTU)
colours. Fun part is I no longer build 1/72 decals were a issue. Seems 1/48 CT-133 markings are pretty close in size to 1/72 CF-100. Could not use the Hobby Craft decals. Too old and nasty looking anyway.
