F-16A 25th Anniversary Venezuela Air Force

Continuing with the commemoration in 2020, of 100 Year Anniversary of the Venezuela Air Force.

This tail art on the F-16A serial #2489, was for the commemoration in 2008, of the 25 Years of operation of F-16s Falcons  in the FAV (Venezuela Air Force).

Although currently, Venezuelan F-16s are still active, it is unknown how many of them are still operational, due to the seizure of spare parts made by the US Government.

To build this model, I used F-16CJ Misawa Japan kit, from Hasegawa, scale 1/48: which I transformed to Venezuelan F-16A, using some parts of the F-16A Italeri model (parachute housing tail, vertical stabilizer, gun and others). Also, I use "after market" parts: aircraft cabin and seat are form Avionix, the wheels are from Eduard, the exhaust nozzle is from Aires. Many pieces were made at home (scratch build), such as the antenna of the nose, lights, internal parts in the wheel bays and others.

The armaments: missiles AIM-9L are from the kit, MK82 bombs and Litening POD are from Hasegawa armament set; the Python 4 missiles are from Paragon resin. All decals were home-made, including the 25th Anniversary tail art presented in the rudder. Paints used are acrylics from Model Master (Testor).

Enjoy,
