India Independence Day

MiG-21, if you ask anyone what is the quintessential aircraft of Indian Air force that would be and everyone would say MiG-21, served more than 50+ years and has a glorious past. However, the sun is setting on this magnificent aircraft and only a few squadrons of MiG-21 Bison are serving with the airforce. To me she is one awesome looking aircraft with beautiful lines.

RV Aircraft Mig-21 is quite demanding and needs dry fitting otherwise if you glued it knowing it okay it may not work on other sections so little patience and dry fitting is a must. For making IAF, we need to sand down some antenna which is not there in IAF Mig-21s but it is there elsewhere and add an antenna which is unique to us, the most visible one is on the nose top which I made from a soda can.

Markings well, I really wanted to do something quite different so I looked at many forums and groups but decided to do this as I have not seen anywhere. I asked some friend and they guided me with the project, the biggest distinction of this particular Mig-21 C2762 is that the tail vertical stabilizer has two different painting one is the black with yellow thunderbolt and other black and yellow chequered pattern, which was quite tedious to mask but once you peel off it was worth the efforts. Paint was a simple local brand with metal and yellow from elsewhere.

Truly conspicuous markings which I really like.

Ps: attached three aircraft I submitted for the 15 August in a group picture.
