1/72 Hasegawa RAAF F-111G

--------------------

This is Hasegawa's F-111G built straight from the box. This aircraft belongs to number 6 Squadron RAAF Amberley, Queensland, Australia. The model was completed in 55 hours, and was finished using Tamiya's convenient spraycan Gunship Grey. I was quite impressed with the finish. For weathering I decided to mask sections of the aircraft and then applied a lighter grey to these areas. This was done with commercial auto primer.

The panel lines were done with a very fine tip artists pen. The kit fitted together quite well with no gaps which is why I like the Hasegawa kits. Unfortunately, as is usually the case with Hasegawa, the decals are too thick, however I had no option at the time to use them.

Overall the F-111 was a pleasure to build. It takes pride of place in my loungeroom, and is a great conversation starter. My next project will be the RAAF lead in fighter 1/72 BAE Hawk 127.
