Hello all. This is my
second submission to ARC. I picked this kit up on ebay for a very
reasonable price considering it's size and level of detail. I was thrilled
to get it because it carries the markings of my old squadron, VS-33 'Screwbirds".
The markings represent the aircraft as they appeared while deployed on board USS
America (CV-66) during the 1980/81 cruise. In reality, most "VS"
squadrons did not have an actual US-3A, but would attach the large cargo pods to
a standard S-3A.

The engraved panel
lines are what really make this kit stand out. Cockpit and wheel well
details are kind of sparse. I added a couple of Monogram pilot figures
just to add a a little something to the cockpit. Model was painted with
Model Masters paints out of the spray can and weathered with pastels.
The large red arrow on the vertical stab was supplied on the decal sheet but I couldn't get it to lay down. I masked and painted it instead.
All in all, a decent build.
