1/72 Kamov Ka-50 Hokum

"Black Shark"

I made this out-of-the-box model for a friend of mine, as he is graduating in the following days. It went together quite nice for an Italeri, if I forget all about the rear part of the fuselage and the nose gear, which was just toooo wide for the nose gear bay. The paint scheme is not as complete as I would want it to be. The number is not right (014 instead of 22) and the icon and the blue "BLACK SHARK" sign is missing. The shark's mouth and eyes is all paint, no decal. I didn't weather the fuselage, as I didn't find any photos of a Hokum with such effects. Colors used are all Revell. The figure was not in the kit, so I got it from a Revell Lynx kit, that's now missing a co-pilot.

When I attached this beast on a carbon stick over a "grass field", it took my breath away. I didn't expect it to look so great. The only thing I would change is the scale. 1:32 or 35 should look nasty. I just hope new owner will like it.
