I built Airfix's
1/48 De Havilland Mosquito using Eduard's photoetched detail set, Squadron vac
canopy, and AeroMaster decals.

The camouflage was
sprayed freehand, using Model Master enamels.
I like these colo(u)rs on a
Mosquito. I find it more attractive in the SEAC scheme, rather than the more
ofter seen green and grays.

The Eduard set really enhances
the looks of this "Old Chestnut" (1980) of a kit. Squadron's vac
canopy is also a big improvement. The prominent internal framing is missing,
however. To solve this, I bent and painted pieces of solder, and attached them
inside the canopy with Future.
The wheel wells are bereft
of detail, so I added structure from solder and sheet styrene. The photoetched
mudguards are a nice touch.
Even though it was a bit more
work than a "fall-together" kit, it was a pleasurable experience.
