  Netherlands Queen's Day 2006

One day I was in a mall with my girlfriend and of course as usually we had to stop at modeller's corner. I was looking at all those boxes and decided I'll purchase something but I couldn't decide what. Then all of a sudden this purple airliner crosses my sight - helvetica.com painted Fokker 100. It was a bargain kit and I went home with it. After opening a kit I was first surprised with the decal sheet; a bunch of stencils and options for 3 different liveries. I had to choose between Helvetica, Austrian Arrows and KLM. After some brief deciding I chose the Dutch livery. Simply KLM livery with its blue colour is eye-catching enough and Fokker just had to be Dutch!

The kit itself was easy enough to build. That is except the engines. They are the worst mould I have ever seen in my life. At one point I even wanted to scratch build at least part of them. However with some determination I managed to make them look good enough. The model was painted with Revell enamels, paints chosen by the photos.

I wish to dedicate this model to all the great Dutch people. I have a few friends there and they showed me how cool this country is.

Gefeliciteerd!
