1/32 Tamiya F-4J Phantom II

--------------------

After some 15 years away from the hobby, I wanted to get back in with a BIG build.  I have always loved the F-4 Phantom II, so it didn't take long to figure out what kit I wanted to go after.  I was (and still am) more than just a little intimidated by all the great building I have seen on this and other sites.  I am very thankful to all of you at ARC for answering my questions and offering great ideas and tips.

I used an Eduard PE detail set for the cockpits, seat harness and exhaust nozzles.

I attempted to use a set of seamless suckers, but I messed them up trying to get them fit.  So I went back and used some sheet styrene and putty to fix the kits gap problem.

For the bomb load I used KMC's Out Board Pylon set, TERs from the super old Revell F-4E kit and bombs from a Trumpeter A-7E weapons set.

The kit's AIM-9s were adapted to the AIM-9G standard by moving the front fins forward by about one fin length.  All paint was Model Master enamels.  The missile markings for the AIM-7s and AIM9s are from the Two Bob's sheets (great sheets by the way!). The markings for AJ-202 from VMFA-333 are from CAM and Yellow Hammer.
