--------------------

This model was built straight from the box. The Roden Mohawks are very nice kits to build. It is most important to put a lot of weight behind the cockpit to balance the model.

The IAF operated two OV-1D Mohawk between 1974 - 1982. One plane caught fire in its cockpit in 1981 and soon after the two planes were removed from service and later ended up back in the USA, returning to service with the US Army. This specific plane (68-16993) went out of service in May 1996 and it's now on display at the AIR ZOO in Kalamazoo, MI.  The second plane (69-17021) were withdrawn from service in May 1991 and it's on display at the American Wings Air Museum at Blaine, MN.

The model is painted in the late color scheme painted in Israel which includes Dark Brown FS 20095 on upper side and Light Ghost Grey FS 36375 on the bottom. The decals are from IsraDecal Studio IAF-50 set.
