1/32 Hasegawa F-16C “Ramstein

--------------------

This is the kit built for the Viper Challenge 2006 (see Alex Sidharta’s article on the challenge).  Sadly because of misinformation regarding the due date, I was disqualified.  That’s why mine does not show up at Alex’s article.

The build itself is quite straight forward. The only addition I added was the Blackbox cockpit set.  Despite of its age, the kit stands side-by-side respectfully well with Tamiya and Academy kit.  Some noticeable errors such the missing fuel cells array lines are quite obvious.  At first the wheel wells also seems lacking in details, but after finishing it with some weathering and washes, it looks fine.  Because of time restriction, those errors were not corrected.

Also, because the kit has been stashed for several years, the decals suffer from release problem and prone to breaking apart.  After loosing some of the decals, I decided to use Microscale’s Liquid Decal Film.  It works like charm.

Hope you enjoy the built.

Philip
