Excerpt from "Fall of the Empire: The Decline of the
Automobile"
"In
an attempt to catch the "Star Wars" Generation of consumers,
the Daimler/Chrysler Corporation attempted to market a new version of
their PT Cruiser. Unfortunately, while it rode high over the surrounding
traffic, its' fuel economy was lacking, and the ride itself tended to
induce nausea. It also was implicated in a series of roll over
accidents, which Daimler/Chrysler attempted to blame on "Rebel
Scum" using tow cables..."
The model
was made from a diecast PT Cruiser which is in 1/36 scale, and the legs
from a "Structor" series of Star Wars models. The ATAT is one
of my favourite vehicles in the Star Wars movies, and I always wanted a
smaller, more economical one. Maybe one day, after a huge lottery win...
