After a long
absence from modelling, I started working on my Mitsubishi G4M1
"Betty", built from the Tamiya Kit. I like the Tamiya kit
very much, because it is quite cleverly engineered and fit is almost perfect.
As
I had only little spare time for modelling, it took me more than
two years to build. The model was basically built oob. My biggest problem was
the lack of good reference photos, so there is a good amount of guessing. Eduard
etched parts were used for the cockpit and for the defensive armament. To give the
model a more life like look, I displayed all control surfaces in a moved position.
Modelmaster and Tamiya colours were used. I tried out many techniques that were
new to me on this model, such as pre- and aftershading. Unfortunately,
the clear parts that were sprayed with Tamiya clear coat lost quite a lot of
their transparency... I hope to do better next time.

I also want to thank my
girl-friend for supporting my addiction to modelling.
Hope you like it.
Next is a 1/32 F-104 Starfighter.
