1/32 P-36 Hawks Part 2 decal sheet

This new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks includes markings for 4 different P-36 Hawks  including an Air Racer from 1939. 

The first aircraft is a P-36A with the 94th Pursuit Squadron, 1st Pursuit Group out of Selfridge Field in 1939.  The paint scheme is a bare metal pre-war scheme with red, white and blue striped tail and rudder.  There is a red ring on the forward part of the engine cowling as well as a red diagonal stripe on the sides of the rear fuselage.  Artwork includes a North American Native Indian with a full feathered head dress.  Code #'s on the tail are "PA 91".  There is also a small black #91 on the side of the engine cowling.   

The second aircraft is a P-36A flown by Capt.  HH George, the commander of the 94 Pursuit Squadron) with the 94th Pursuit Squadron, 1st Pursuit Group out of Selfridge Field in 1939.  The paint scheme is a bare metal pre-war scheme with red, white and blue striped tail and rudder.  

There is a red ring on the forward part of the engine cowling as well as two red vertical stripes on the sides of the rear fuselage.  Artwork includes a North American Native Indian with a full feathered head dress.  Code #'s on the tail are "PA 70".  There is also a small black #70 on the side of the engine cowling.   

The third aircraft is a P-36C with the 27th Pursuit Squadron, 1st Pursuit Group flown by Major Willis R. Taylor at the Cleveland air Races in 1939.  The paint scheme is a Green/Tan/White camo scheme with vertical stripes on the rear fuselage.  There is a bug black #69 on the side tail.  Artwork is on the side of the fuselage below the canopy of an Eagle in attack mode on a red background. 

The fourth aircraft is a P-36A flown by Capt.  Ross G. Hoyt, the commander of the 20th Pursuit Squadron out of Moffett Field in 1940.  The paint scheme is a bare metal pre-war scheme with red, white and blue striped tail and rudder.  There is a red and black ring on the engine cowling as well as red/yellow/black vertical stripes on the sides of the rear fuselage.  Artwork includes a Victory by Valor Crest on the side of the fuselage below the cockpit.  Code #'s on the tail are "PT 1".   

The decals were flawlessly printed and in perfect registration.  

The instructions are clear and include colour drawings to assist in decal placement as well as having the specific colours listed to aid in the painting process.  There is also 1 and 1/2 pages of text including information about all four aircraft.

A very nice decal sheet and will be helpful for anyone building the big 1/32 P-36 using the Trumpeter P-40B with the Cutting Edge Modelworks resin P-36 conversion set.
