This new decal
sheet from Cutting Edge
Modelworks includes markings for two different 1/48 P-40's.
The first aircraft is a P-40F
with the 79th FG/85th FS out of Tunisia in late 1942. The paint scheme is
a desert camo with Dark Earth and Middle Stone on top and Deep Azure Blue on the
underside. Squadron artwork on the lower engine cowling is a winged skull
flying through the sky. The artwork on the rudder on the tail is a
beautiful naked blonde with a classic 1940's hairstyle in a sitting position
with her breasts fully exposed. The
artwork for this aircraft has a white decal to go underneath the noseart decal.
On
the side of
the rear fuselage are the white code letters "X2 8".
Reference photos are inconclusive and the last code # could be an "8"
or "9", so an 8 and 9 decal are included. The prop spinner cone
is red.
The
second aircraft is a P-40E
is a P-40F
with the 49th FG/8th FS flown by Lt. Monty Eisenberg out of Strauss Field,
Darwin Australia in June 1942. The paint scheme is
Olive Drab on top and Neutral Gray on the underside. White text on
the lower engine cowling is "DOLLYE" and there is artwork on the
rear fuselage just behind the cockpit of a fully nude Brunette with a
classic 1940's hairstyle in a sitting position with her breasts fully
exposed. The
artwork for this aircraft has a white decal to go underneath the noseart decal.
On the side of
the tail are the yellow serial numbers "44".
The prop spinner cone is Olive Green or medium Blue.
