This new
book from Model Alliance is written by Glenn Sands and illustrated by well known profile artist Jon
Freeman.
The book
focuses on the Sepecat Jaguar in Worldwide Service and
gives modellers a large selection of colour profiles to help
expand their reference library. I've scanned a tiny selection of
the colour profiles to give you a small taste to the many colour
profiles presented in this book. In fact there are 103 different
Sepecat Jaguar colour profiles featured in this book. Featured in this
book are Sepecat Jaguars in a large variety of paint
schemes from the RAF, France's Armee de l'Air, Indian Air Force, Sultan
of Oman's Air Force, Nigerian Air Force and the Ecuador air Force.
The RAF Jaguars include;
-
some in
desert camo and noseart from Operations Granby in 1991 during the Gulf
War
-
Operation
Grapple - Jaguars at war in the Balkans in 1993
-
Operation
Telic in 2003
-
RAF
display birds and Anniversary schemes
-
Recent RAF
Operational schemes
-
Winter
camo schemes
France's Armee
de l'Air include;
-
Jaguar M
carrier based prototype
-
2 seater
prototype
-
Jaguar

-
Airshow
and commemorative schemes.
-
Leopard

-
Gulf War
Operation Daguet desert schemes from Jan 1991.
-
Balkens
in the 1990's.
Indian Air
Force include;
Sultan of
Oman's Air Force
Nigerian Air
Force
Ecuadorian Air
Force
Included with each colour profile
is info on the particular plane as well as information about it's paint
scheme. Above is an example of one of the colour profiles. Thirty of
the profiles also include a top and bottom view and two side profiles to
give an all around view of certain Jaguars included in this book. Below
I've include a tiny selection of some of the pages to give you a taste of the
variety of profiles in this book, but out of respect to the
artist's copyright, I am not providing larger scans.
102
different Jaguar colour profiles featured in this book
Also included in the book are photos
of various Jaguars during operation service.
Jaguar Decals
for some of the planes featured in this book will be available from the
The
Aviation Workshop / Model Alliance
Group
website in the near future.
I'm always impressed with the consistent
quality of the books in this series. Although the cover is a soft
cover....it is a heavy weight cardboard cover. The pages are heavy weight
paper....this is a reference book sure to last a long long time.
I'm quite impressed with this new book and I look forward to other additions to
this new On Target Profile Series. I recommend this book to anyone
interested in the Jaguar. The content in this book that caught my eye were
the Desert and Winter camo schemes as well as the Gulf War jets. Special thanks to Jon Freeman
for the review sample and bringing this book to my attention.
You can order this
book directly from the The
Aviation Workshop / Model Alliance
Group website.
