The
third aircraft
is a
P-47D-25-RA 42-28878 "Eileen" flown by Lt Frank Oiler with the 78th FG/84
FS in 1944. The
paint scheme for this aircraft is RAF Dark Green on top and RAF Sky on the
underside. The tail has a horizontal white stripe on both sides
and the engine cowling forward ring is black and white checker
board.
This aircraft has D-Day stripes on the lower part of the rear
fuselage. The white code letters on the side of the rear fuselage
are WZ S. The noseart is a dangerous looking hornet holding
what appears to be a couple of gray bones. He is black and
yellow with blue wings with the script "Eileen" next to
the noseart.
The instructions are clear
and include 3 views of each aircraft as well as 2 very detailed pages of
text telling about each aircraft on this decal sheet and 4 view
line drawing showing general P-47 stencil placement. The decals are beautifully
printed on 3 decal sheets. It appears you get two complete set of stencils
with this decal sheet.
A very
nice decal sheet with
some great markings for this classic WW2 fighter.
