This latest release from Lifelike Decals decal sheet features four different Fokker D.VII's.  This is Part 1 of  a series dealing with the Fokker D.VII in German markings from 1918.

The 4 aircraft include the striking and colourful markings that are so popular on WW1 German aircraft.

  • Fokker D.VII (O.A.W-built) flown by Lt. Wilhelm Leusch, Commander of Jasta 19, Stenay Airfield in Oct 1918 with Dragon artwork on the side of the fuselage.

  • Fokker D.VII (early Fokker built) flown by an unknown pilot of Jasta 16b, Marguerite Airfield in June/July 1918 with a blue and white checked stripe on the fuselage (provided as a decal).

  • Fokker D.VII (O.A.W-built) flown by Lt. Franz Buchner, Commander of Jasta 13, Carlgnan Airfield in Oct 1918 with a green and white checked stripe on the fuselage (provided as a decal) as well as lions head artwork.

  • Fokker D.VII (O.A.W-built) s/n 6351/18, possibly flown by a pilot of Jasta 32b, Trier Airfield after armistice with white horizontal stripes on the side of the fuselage.

The quality of these decals is of very good quality....crisp and clear.  The decals themselves are clearly printed and in perfect register on 3 small decal sheets.  Some decals come in 2 layers to ensure perfect registration.  The complicated lozenge patterns are not included as decals, so you'll have to paint those yourself, but thankfully the instructions do provide enough views to move you along in the lozenge painting process.....including the top and bottom of the wings.

The instructions also include plenty of text about each plane......this sort of research means much to me.....I like to know the history behind the aircraft I'm building.

You can purchase these decals either directly from Lifelike Decals at fax number is +81-3-5680-6733, and e-mail is lifelike@eos.ocn.ne.jp. or from HobbyLink Japan.
