Limited Edition Super Sheet

Bombshell Decals launched itself six months ago with 3 impressive 1/48 B-25J decal sheets. Run By Mike Kloppenburg from his family home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. His desire to provide top quality nose art decals, from subjects that he has a passion for and wishes to share them with fellow modelers.

One of the three sheets from second release from Bombshell Decals includes, a Super Sheet of B-25J Mitchell’s that appeared from his first release. Theses have been down sized from 48th offering to 72nd. The one sheet contains four B-25J Mitchell’s that served in the Mediterranean Theater with beautiful Pin-up art on the noses.

“Briefing Time” SN# 43-27638 completed 126 from 16th May 1944 to 26th April 1945. She also shares the credit for the sinking of the Italian cruiser Taranto. At the end of the war she had a name changed to “Quitting Time”

MMR “Margaret Mary Rustin” SN# 43-27751 of the 447th Bomb Squadron was based near Ancona, Italy, May 1945. MMR carry’s an impressive score board next to a Pin-up girl kneeing topless with pigtails. The illustrated profile shows her towards the end of the war, but the sheet also includes the Roman numerals III, that she carried early in her career.

“Ruthie” SN# 43-27653 completed 108 missions during her career. She carries a beautiful nude pin-up model sitting upright.

The fourth B-25J Mitchell is from the 445th Bomb Squadron, “Stuff” SN# 43-27680. There is not much information to be found on her, but she has a pin-up girl lying across the nose of the aircraft showing her backside.

Also included on the sheet are stencils for the props and some generic placards that can be used on the landing gears and the engines. There is enough for all four aircraft on the sheet. Also are eight “Star and Bar” national insignias.

The sheets have been printed by the world leaders in decals technology Cartograf of Italy. The sheets have been printed in a limited run and are probably the best I have seen. The detail and the artwork of the pin-ups are outstanding! There is almost no decal carrier film visible also.

Bombshell Decals 1/72 B-25J sheet is available through their website (www.bombshelldecals.com) for US$16 plus shipping.
