To help commemorate
the 50th anniversary of Hawaiian statehood on Aug 21, I built my Academy 1/48
scale P-47N Thunderbolt as a plane that served with the 199th Fighter
Squadron of the Hawaii Air National Guard.

I built it straight from
the box except for Aeromaster decals (from sheet 48-533, "Hawaiian
National Guard P-47N Thunderbolts") and a True Details resin cockpit.
As for paints, I used Floquil Old Silver for the natural metal finish,
Future for the clear coat, and Testors enamels for everything else.
Overall,
I'm happy with how my "Aloha Bolt" turned out, and I hope you are too.
Happy 50th Statehood Anniversary, Hawaii!
P.S. The nickname "Aloha
Bolt," in case you're wondering, is a take on the Aloha Bowl college
football game.
