1/48 Accurate Miniatures B-25C Mitchell

This model is made from the Accurate Miniatures B-25C/D kit. I started this kit to promote the decals I designed together with my brother (Flevo Decals), this brings me also to the aftermarket parts I used on this kit.

First of our own decals, which is sheet FD48-001 Royal Netherlands Navy Part 1. The kit it self has a nice interior which doesn’t need much aftermarket attention, except for the seats. I personally found the seats horrible and replaced them with a set from Pavla.  The model I made is R-3 from 320 Sqn of the RNeth Navy.

Below are some of the pictures I took during the building process.

The building was really straight forward, I didn’t encounter any real problems here. Most of the parts fitted perfect. Only when closing the fuselage I found out too late that there was some misalignment between the two halves, so out came the sanding paper and the putty. I used model master 1723 for the main color, as this color came closest to Extra Dark Sea Gray.

Then came the Model Master clear coat to prepare for the decals. The decals are printed in England by the Fantasy Printshop.  And they worked very well with Micro Set and Sol.  After some drying time I added the final Model Master Flat coat. I finished the model just in time to have it shown at our own stand at the Euro Scale Modeling Convention in Nieuwegein, Holland (The Dutch IPMS Nationals).
