This series of pictures is
Academy's F/A18 D in 1:32 scale built out of the box but, including the
aircrew with one exception, I saw a picture in Daco publications
"Uncovering the Boeing F/A-18 A/B/C/D Hornet" of a F 18 making an
arrested landing and had to do one, it wasn't a D model but to me the D is
a sweet airplane.

Here is the result of that build, (using
about 3 rolls of masking tape 2 bottles of Tamiya's acrylics and, a
scanner to enlarge (which I then cut out and used for masking)
the paint pattern is included in the kit.)
Basically the only changes made were
to shorten the nose oleo and crank the main legs down and glue on an
arresting cable.
