  Malaysia Independence Day 2010

Hi. This is my latest build Italeri 1/72nd Boeing X-32 JSF with Royal Malaysian Air Force insignia.  The first time when I saw this Boeing JSF in a documentary, in my mind I wondered if Boeing was kidding us or in a hurry on the JSF competiton, it’s weird and too sci-fi looking and ugly.  A few years later, I started to looking back and try to do something that can ‘make-up’ this fat looking plane into something cute.  So I decide to give it just a small change, try to paint it in something else that can cover up its looks. After a few imagination, I decide to do a ‘what if look like’ in existing RMAF squadron Mig-29 livery scheme.   Well.. from the side view it looks like an egg plane of the RMAF Mig-29 but not too close, at least it’s turn cute for me.  The Cobra art really look match with the jet intake, an open mouth.

About the build, it is simple, a fast build.  Not much filler is needed.  This is my first time trying the preshade technique, a good practice before I can master it on other model kits.  After sealed it with semi-gloss, I add weathering to add juice to the preshading to make it look dirty and busy.

This kit is a present to my country, as 31st August is Malaysian Independence Day.. Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!
