Indonesia Independence Day

Greeting from Indonesia!
I built this model around 2008. This model is based on a Mustang that is exhibited at the Indonesia Air Force Museum, Dirgantara Mandala, Yogyakarta.  My hometown.  This Mustang actually is a Cavalier Mustang.  A close examination traced a serial number of F-361 but has been painted to F-338, an ode to the aircraft that was flown by Ign Dewanto, Indonesia's only ace.  Further research found that F-361 actually was a double seater, a trainer Mustang. I also meet a guy that witnessed the aircraft arrival at the airbase near before being stored in the museum. He confirmed that F-361 is a double seater. But sadly he didn't remember what was the color of the aircraft when it arrived. Some photographs show a white cavalier mustang, some monuments also displayed white colored mustang. But then I decided that I would make a model of the mustang in the museum. A bare metal mustang.

Building the model was quite straightforward with some addition so it would look like the  museum mustang.

I used a Tamiya 1/48 model kit. The cavalier mustang perform a taller fin. I modified the fin with addition of resin pasta. Antennas on fin were made from placard. Aerial mast enters in the side of the body and was made with stretched sprue.

And the backseat compartment I decided to make it just like presented in the museum. It is covered with a wooden board and painted black. And for the marking I use my self made decals.
Thank You....
