General electric was able to build the engines for Americas first jet fighter, the Bell XP-59 Airacomet. Upon seeing this the U.S. Navy Bureau of Aeronautics published a request proposal for something "Cooler" than the XP-59. This is what Vought came up with. I bought a few of the 21st Century Toys 1:32 aircraft kits before they stopped making them. Since these kits only cost $10, I like to Whif them up, its not a big loss if it goes wrong. I used some custom and the kit decals, it was painted with Tamiya acrylics. Here is how I built it: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=254415
