This is a very basic kit, which of coarse just begs for some improvements and scratch building. And in this scale, it’s----FUN !!

I built up all of the clear parts with plastic strip so the pieces wouldn’t fall right through their respective openings, and added scratch built air scoops, antennas, hinges, grab handles, pitot tubes, etc., and did some re-scribing. I also completely rebuilt the rotor head using brass rod and small stainless steel washers, and reshaped the blades. Internal detail was adequate for the scale.

The tail boom had 20 yellow decals, and I had to do some mixing (Testors) to get a color that matched them after they were applied over the red paint, and for touch ups as well. It don’t look too bad, eh?
