Being the fan I am of the 109 I got some Kagero books with colour profiles and decals. One of the profiles was the subject of this build, which I found very attractive since it's not quite common.

The kit for this build was the Hasegawa one straight from the box.  Kagero only includes the main characters on their decal sheet so crosses came from a Cutting Edge sheet. They both conformed very well to the surface using Micro products. Paint used was Model Master RLM enamel colors.

The kit is very straight forward to build with some photo-etched parts included in the kit and very poor interior in the best Hasegawa tradition. If you're planning to do this kit with an open canopy a resin cockpit is a must. If you ask me the Airfix kit is the best offer in the 1/48 109E neighbourhood (having now built the Airfix, Eduard, Hasegawa, Tamiya and Pegasus kits). I loved to paint this one as the scheme permitted to try new things on it. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Cheers!
