This model depicts the modern Russian carrier Admiral Kuznetsov during the mid 90's where the carrier was operational after the fall of the Soviet Union. The kit was the trumpeter version which was in 1/700 scale. Overall the kit was detail however certain Photo Etched parts and other
adjustment was made to enhance the detail of the kit making it quite a promising built. The only challenge facing the model was certain
fit issues and some over sized decals which was resolved in the later progress.

The base primer used was
Mr. Surface 1200 with the Balkan Grey of the Mr. Color used as the primary upper hull paint as well as the Island. The deck was painted with dark deck grey which was later weathered using AK Interactive naval wash set. Painting the small aircraft plus with its camouflage was quite a challenge. Final touch was made and later deck crew from Eduard Pre painted generic and modern naval air crew was inserted to make the deck scene more lively.
