The pilot was Lt. George Sigler accompanied by Lt. Mike Grant and Fred Carrigan. Sigler became also famous when he decided to cross the Pacific together with another sailor in a rubber dinghy. After 56 days they reached Hawaii. His experience was written down in his book ‘Experiment in Survival’.
Today George Sigler runs very successful a major flight school, guess what the name is … ‘Skywarrior’.
The model shown will go to Pensacola. It picks up a display stand rod through the refueling
receptacle. This rod has been retouched in one picture! Thank you and have fun!
