This is a Hasegawa F-4D built out of the box many, many years ago. The build is fine but the original paint was not. So fast forward to Phantom 188. It got the same markings this one used to be in. This 1/48 build was good enough not to be tossed, so I looked for a paint scheme that was not too far off the original.

Speed Hunter decals had two schemes I wanted to do. One would involve removing all the missiles and repainting the bottom a different colour. So I will do it later. The other is a three time MIG killer from Oregon. Just had to paint out the radome and add a darker grey to the canopy frames. Also of course the removal of the old Ohio markings.

Not a show winner by any stretch, but I hate to toss a respectable build. I kept the crooked markings from Ohio on the travel pod. I reminder to check decals as they settle, as sometimes they move on you as they dry. As such this model went straight to the bottom shelf on the great wall of Phantoms. They can not all be top shelf worthy.
