Yup, it's another Labrador

Greetings all. It's been a while since I've done anything that could be called presentable... leaving the RCAF after 25 years has left me wanting, for lack of the personal space I used to call my "fortress of solitude".

Considering I've been relegated to the dingy basement of an old farmhouse, I've managed to carve out a few usable spaces to start working on my hobby again. It'll do til I win the 6/49 lottery... Anyhoo, about the model- yup, it's a Hobbycrap CH-113 Labrador, and it's probably my hundredth (seriously). I added a bunch of cast resin pieces I made over a few years of building this miserable gob of plastic. Styrene rod and sheet were used for the various antennae, and the decals were mostly Belcher Bits. One thing his sheet didn't include is the red fuselage stripe, which I cut from decal sheet sprayed with Tamiya red. The closest thing to the SAR yellow is Model Master Chrome Yellow. Tamiya Red was used for the fuel tanks.

I was going to build Lab 304, but I didn't check the markings close enough. The only Labs from the original 6 to get the newest "Canada" script were 302 and 306. I knew Lab 306 met its demise on the tarmac in Greenwood (starting in high winds and the blades struck the fuselage) so that's my baby...The Fujimi KV-107 kit is waaay better, but this one was expendable for someone trying to shake off the cobwebs...
