To represent this P-47D Razorback, the following enhancements to Hasegawa's 1/48 kit were used:
-
1) True Details P-47-D-15 to D-28 Cockpit (TD48499)
-
2) Thundercal Decals 48-001 P-47D Razorback Thunderbolts PTO Part 1
-
3) Minor scratchbuilt details
I decided on a moderately weathered aircraft beginning with a combination of panel pre-shading and random highlights of yellow-ochre followed by various tints and shades of olive drab and yellow-ochre mixes on dorsal surfaces. Three mixes of neutral gray and white were applied to ventral surfaces. Additional weathering was performed with lamp black and raw umber oil filters; raw umber, white and yellow-ochre oil filters; and pastels.
Enjoy!
