Two
Hasegawa Starfighters built in parallel and mostly out of the box: I just added
Aires ejection seats and dropped the flaps on both aircraft. I used Humbrol
enamels mostly, together with different Alclad shades for the wheel wells and
exhausts. A bit of pre- and post-shading was done to get some variations in the
colours. Panel lines washes are from MIG, with some oil washes used as well.

For
the German Marineflieger, I used the kit's decals which worked very well.
Aircraft no. 26+75 flew with the MFG 2 squadron from Eggebeck AB, in the mid
'80s. Really happy with how this scheme worked out, showing a heavily used
aircraft nearing the end of its operational life.
The Belgian F-104 portrays an aircraft during the Tactical Air Meet from June 1978 at RAF Wildenrath AB in Germany. Together with German, Dutch and Canadian Starfighters, the BAF participated with 5 aircraft marked 'A' to 'E'. Aircraft no. FX65 was identified as 'B'. I used Daco decals which are extensive, also including various 'zappings'. I found the application of these decals so-so: it was a long time since I experienced such silvering of decals, showing unfortunately only after applying the final flat coat. Then again, it might have just been my preparation of the surface not being glossy enough. Lesson learned!
Enjoy the pictures!
