When I saw the kitplane SubSonex JSX-2 from Sonex Aircraft ( https://www.sonexaircraft.com/ ) I thought this would be a cool model for Ilan Papinis Vehicle Simulator ( http://www.hangsim.com/vehicle-simulator/index.php ).

Here is a video of it:

As you can see it´s a lot of fun to fly it!

As I had the 3D-model now, I made a drawing and sized it down to 1/48 for a scratch built model.

The model was made from polystyrene plates (0,5 / 1 / 1,5 mm). For the upper side of the fuselage, the fuel tank and the bay of the nose gear I made deepdrawn parts. The moulds therefore were made out of wood.

The pilot figure is from a Hughes 500 (Academy). The jet engine is made out of external fuel tanks I had left from other kits. Most of the small parts were made out of stretched sprue. The wheels of the main landing gear were left from the Falcon 20 in 1:144 (F-RSIN) and the nose landing gear comes from a Starfighter in 1/100 (Tamiya).

I like the painting of the N465NC and found this video which gave me a good reference:

So I printed decals on transparent foil and attached them on the white painted model.

The model was painted with brush and colors from Revell. I sealed it with clear, shiny varnish from Mr. Hobby.

I´m happy to have this cool toy in my collection now. Wingspan in 1/48 is a bit more than 11 cm.
