The first jet era dog fighter. Happy to present this amazing F-86 Sabre that become famous during the Korean War.

This academy kit is fabulous and has options to present with the engine separated from the fuselage. I used an aluminium oil paint spray can for the body of the jet and shaded a few panels in dark tones to show that they were replaced.

For the cockpit I used the Camel and fevicryl acrylics . For me, applying the large decals was a challenge as they tend to tear quite easily and spoil the entire look. I struggled particularly with the decal behind the cockpit that extends all the way beneath the wings. At the end, managed to get them just right.

This one is one of the few models with bare metal finish and thus has a special place in my collection.
