This is my Accurate
Miniatures A-36 Apache. I used Eduard's photo etch detail set on this kit. The
most apparent item included are the dive brakes. It really makes for a different
looking Apache.

The markings came from the
excellent Three Guys Replicas sheet # TGR-48007 for Donald "Button"
Smith's A-36A-1-NA "Herschel IV," as she arrived in pristine condition
at Tafaraoui, Algeria, in June, 1943. The decals are crisply printed and opaque.
The interiors of the cockpit and
wheel wells were painted Chromate Green, using Model Master enamel. The Olive
Drab is also Model Master enamel, with the control surfaces and selected panels
painted with a mixture of Olive Drab and Faded Olive Drab. The Neutral Gray
lower surfaces were painted with Color of Eagles acrylic. This is a
different and colorful Apache, and it is a nice contrast when parked next to a
P-51D in a metal finish.
