by Laurent Boildieu

--------------------

This aircraft flew with the 512th Fighter squadron, 406th fighter group. In late 1944, most of the Thunderbolts flew without camouflage in natural metal finish. "Angie" carried only invasion stripes on the bottom of fuselage; The 406FG's machines were characterized by all-black empennages with stripes in individual squadron colors on vertical surfaces. The pilot of this aircraft remains unknown.

For this model, I used the Revell kit in 1/72nd scale, with Aeromaster decals and Alcald metallic paints.
