The
ICM model is a real challenge, but is the only I-5 injected model in 1/72
scale. The parts are hard to cut from the sprue and easy to break, but
work carefully and the parts will separate completely. You'll also need to
clean some parts of excess
plastic. The detail is great, but when the fuselage is closed up, you can’t
see the interior, I made the wire struts with plastic wire.
I
painted my model Humbrol 11 Silver overall. To paint the rudder, undercarriage and the
interplane n-struts, I painted these in white and then in Model Master insignia
Red FS31136 to make the red bright.

The
model is out of the box and I use the kit decals, these are thin and easy to
break, but when you use Gunze’s Mr. Mark softer....the decals conform to all
the model details.
