With the resurgence of the world
economy in the latter part of 2009, airlines began booming again. Gone were the
old familiar names of Pan Am, Delta, American, Air Canada, British, Air France,
JAL, and Walt's Crop Dusting, but a new series of airliners emerged to
fill their shoes. One of these was White Star Lines, an attempt to bring back
the classiness associated with international travel. Hoping to capitalise on the
idea of travel in comfort, White Star instituted a new class of economy
passenger service as well: Steerage. This actually paid for the flights
themselves and subsidised the opulence found on the upper decks of it's
"Olympic" Class airliners. The upper deck, First Class as it was
known, contained not only opulent seating arrangements, but a Turkish bath,
exercise horse and even a swimming pool was available on some of it's liners.

Attempting to
compete with the Cunard Liners, White Star introduced the first of its'
"Olympic" Class airliners in 2010. Despite a small incident at
Liverpool International where a RN Hawk trainer was pulled into the side of the
"Olympic", the sheer size appears to offer no undue effects on
handling or service. The latest "Olympic" class liner,
"Titanic" is due to make it's first Liverpool-Le Havre-New York
crossing on April 14th, 2012.
Safety is paramount for White Star Lines, as all it's A-380 Olympic Class liners
comply with all the latest regulations pertaining to safety. Some reports have
even gone so far as to claim the "Olympic" Class is the safest
airliner in existence, although with such an early time in it's service record,
this is an easy claim to make!
The Model
Standard out of the box (GASP!) Revell Germany Airbus A-380, in it's AIRBUS
scheme boxing. Custom paint and decalling, with the Titanic nameplate coming
from the OLD Revell Titanic kit. Fit was good with only the landing gear causing
some issues..thanks to Ted for the Heads up on that before I got to it!
